“The smoke that thunders”

LIVINGSTONE, ZAMBIA — Today we arrived at Victoria Falls, Mosi-oa-tunya, “the smoke that thunders” on the Zambezi River. Literally, the mist from the falls rises high into the air, giving the appearance of smoke that is visible for several miles. Breathtaking is an understatement. As one approaches the falls, the roaring mist forms a rainbow and becomes a drenching downpour. It is truly one of the seven Natural Wonders of the World. Later we unwound on a sunset cruise on the Zambezi, marveling as seven hippos of varied sizes dipped and cavorted in the shimmering waters.

Ngi sokubona,
Judy & Steve
